INTRODUCTION

Salikneta

The Philippines is truly a noble and fascinating country. It is surrounded by a large mass of water, hundreds of islands, and most of all, it is wealthy of its minerals and agricultural lands. Indeed, agriculture is the primary source of its people’s livelihood. Their food, exported products and labor income came from this factor. This is the greatest thing we must appreciate that God have given to us. Most of our fellowmen are farmers so it’s admirable that we have dexterity when it comes of opulence in our farms although we do not have adequate modern instruments that can be use.

In some part of Luzon, in the City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan we can find one of the example of agricultural land rich in different kinds of plants and animals that are well taken cared of. It is well known as Salikneta Farm (formerly known as Saliksik-Araneta), its total land area is 64 hectares of farm land owned by Gregorio Araneta University Foundation (now known as De La Salle Araneta University). The wide farmland is used for forestry and agricultural operations for student training purposes.
Aside from serving as a laboratory and research facility, an agricultural-forestryecology- tourism-integrated farm complete with recreational facilities such as horse back riding, carabao cart-pulling for passengers, fishing, camping, mini-zoo and conference area is envisioned in Salikneta. The university of De La Salle Araneta focuses on the agriculture of our country so that our farm lands wouldn’t be spoiled, destroyed, or thoroughly neglected. Nowadays, most of the youth specifically the ones who lives in Manila area and those who have graduated aims to go to other countries to work, serve and settle their living. But we are encouraging you to stay in our country and prioritize first our environment that could help not just for the present but as well as for the next generations. We think that this website could be the instrument for you to open your hearts and soul to see that our own land is rich and plenty.
